Public Health: no Kentucky chicken for Singapore
The Colonel would be spinning on a roasting spit - if KFC actually sold chicken from Kentucky in Singapore. Luckily, that's not where its meat comes from as Singapore bans birds and chicken products from the southern state due to an outbreak of bird flu.

The strain of the virus found in Kentucky is not the horrible H5N1 version that kills so widely - but the H7N9 version whilst milder is still not something to spread about.
Singapore gets most of its live chickens and fresh meat from neighbouring Malaysia - and much of its frozen meat from Brazil. However, some 350,000 kg of frozen chicken birds have been shipped from Kentucky to Singapore in the past year and a quarter or so.
However, products certified as heat-treated may still be imported as tests have shown that high temperature kills the virus.
