Travel: No, you cannot go to Cuba, US tells citizens
The USA continues its sanctions against Cuba including blocking most travel and financial transactions. Limited authority is available to "persons subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" but only on terms approved by the US government. However, due to an apparent relaxation of some rules, some commentators have mistakenly reported that US citizens can freely travel to Cuba. The US Treasury, which administers the sanctions, says that is not so. And those cigars? Contraband. And travellers can't actually take a holiday while they are there.
