In usual years, the Davos Forum raises important and interesting topics which business leaders and politicians take home with some prospect of using them for discussion. Is that possible this year?
With governments all over the world rushing for protectionism, for self-inflating budgets, individual approaches to taxation, trade and regulation (in the financial sector and elsewhere) there is more fragmentation than for many years.Against that background, is there any point to Davos this year? Will any representations be heard?Or should they just abolish the pretence and simply get some decent skiing in and have a good party?
