The scheme will ensure both consistent training standards and professional organisation of training events for which Continuous Professional Education is granted.
The Society has a number of criteria for events which award CPE hours including :
- the course must be defined as to level i.e. foundation, intermediate, advanced or updater.
- Courses may be delivered in one or a mix of formats but must have an assessment process at the conclusion of the course. Assessment is in the form of written or on-line test or examination.
- There are requirements as to venue including that both the event rooms and all snack / meal breaks are to be smoke-free and must be accessible by the disabled, including those in a wheelchair plus the provision of religious and medical dietary requirements provided they are notified in advance.
Accredited training providers are required to submit details of courses and delegates applying for SocAMLPro CPE hours to enable the Society to reconcile claims for hours.
Once accredited, training course providers will be authorised to self-approve courses and to issue certificates of attendance / achievement on behalf of the Society.
