ReviewWitness second album syndrome. It's a shame this CD is overshadowed by the first Matchbox Twenty outing. Mad season is a very good album - it's just that the first one was better. Here, nothing stands out, but nothing falls below a high standard.

For those new to this band, they will be very satisfied with the intricacies of both music and lyrics: Rob Thomas is a fine songwriter.The style is that of much Californian post punk - but with no shouting, no bad language - and with a demonstrable mastery of their craft missing from many of their contemporaries. Basically, the band sound (and there are those who will regard this as a derogatory comment - it is not) educated.
